Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to head up our team at Ye Olde Hobnails Inn, Little Washbourne, Tewkesbury, GL20 8NQ overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, staff management, stock control, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design menus with the Directors that align with our concept and meet customer preferences.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking activities to ensure consistency and quality.
- Train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement cost-effective strategies for maximizing profitability.
- Stay current with industry trends and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding food safety standards.
- Creativity and a passion for creating a great dining experience for our guests.
Due to the rural location of the pub, it would be an advantage that candidates either drive or have a reliable way of commuting as public transport can be inconsistent.
