Welcome to The Cross, a much-loved village pub in Aylburton, near Lydney, in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

Packed with traditional charm and character, The Cross offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where locals and visitors can enjoy real ales, fine wines and classic home-cooked pub food, alongside a regularly changing specials board featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients.

There’s always something happening at The Cross. We’re proud to be part of village life, from the famous Aylburton Carnival every July and our summer festival, Cross Fest, to live music, quiz nights, karaoke and our ever-popular Tipsy Tapas bottomless brunch throughout the year.

As the nights draw in, the fun continues with our Annual Halloween Party, before the festive season gets underway with our Christmas parties from Friday 20th November — the perfect excuse to get together with friends, family and colleagues.

And there’s plenty happening during the week too. BOGOF Mondays are a great way to start the week, Steak Night every Tuesday remains a firm favourite, and happy hour runs every day from 3pm–5pm — the perfect time to pop in for a drink and unwind.

Breakfast is served from 9am on Fridays and Saturdays and from 10am on Sundays, while lunch and dinner are served daily, giving you plenty of reasons to visit throughout the week.

The Cross is truly a pub for all seasons. During the colder months, settle in beside one of our three roaring log burners, surrounded by traditional exposed beams and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. When summer arrives, our large sunny garden provides the perfect spot for alfresco drinks, dining and relaxing with friends and family.

And of course, dogs are always welcome — provided they’re well behaved!
