Welcome to The Cross- a much loved village pub in Aylburton, near Lydney in the beautiful Forest of Dean.
Packed with traditional charm and character, The Cross offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where locals and visitors can enjoy real ales, fine wines, and a classic home cooked pub menu. The pub also offers a regularly changing specials board using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The Cross is well known for its events including live music, quiz nights, karaoke, an annual summer festival ‘Cross Fest’ and the ever popular Tipsy Tapas nights which run throughout the year. Steak Night is every Tuesday and is a firm favourite with regulars and newcomers alike.
Breakfast from 9am on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10am on Sundays and Lunch and dinner are served daily, offering something for everyone throughout the week.
The Cross truly is a pub for all seasons. In the winter months, the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with three roaring log burners and traditional exposed beams. During the summer months, guests can enjoy a large, sunny garden and terrace, perfect for alfresco drinks and dining.
The Cross is also dog friendly, happily welcoming well behaved four-legged friends to join you on your visit.

Thirteen of us were staying at Lodge Barn for the weekend and visited this pub / restaurant twice.
On the Friday we ordered from the main menu, and on Sunday, we ate from the roast menu.
On both occasions, the service was fast, friendly, and excellent. The food portions were generous, and the quality was outstanding.
I would highly recommend this pub/ restaurant, and I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Highly recommended bottomless Tipsy Tapas, great that it’s local, lovely mix of drinks and the food kept coming!
Staff were welcoming and attentive, very good service.
Lovely quality food, and such large portions.
Probably the best Bottomless Brunch we have been to in Gloucestershire, would highly recommend.
